Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about us. We are extremely excited to start this next chapter of our lives and become first time parents through adoption. We look forward to raising your child with country roots and surrounding them with family, friends, and unconditional love because that is how we were raised. We look forward to getting to know you and joining our path with yours. We would love to keep in touch with you through letters, pictures, and visits.
About Us
In 2008 we met and got to know each other while working together at our local grocery store. It wasn’t long before we knew we had something special, started dating and, in 2014, we were married!
We knew having a child on our own was going to be challenging and, after five years of failed infertility treatments and heartbreak, we knew it was time for a new journey. We are now so excited to start our family through adoption!
We love spending time together on our small farm and playing with our two dogs, Penny and Riggs. We enjoy cooking dinner together and ending the night with a movie or a board game. On the weekends you can always find us hanging out with family and friends. In the summer, we love to go swimming and play mini-golf. In fall and winter, we take pleasure in Friday nights at our local bowling alley and plenty of bonfires- smores are always a must-have! We both come from large extended families and we are looking forward to sharing our traditions with your child, and starting many new traditions as well!
About Chris
Chris is a social butterfly, makes friends everywhere we go, loves the outdoors, and claims to be the family grill master. You can always catch him fishing, taking care of his sunflower garden, or playing fetch with our dogs! He is also obsessed with our new kittens. Whether working at our local grocery store or being our live-in handyman, Chris is incredibly hard working. No matter what, he always makes time to help his family and friends.
Chris is loving, dependable, loyal, and will be an amazing role model for our child. Chris is looking forward to teaching our child all about the great outdoors and looks forward to taking them fishing and camping. He has been mastering his Dad jokes for years!
About Katie
Katie is the most loving and compassionate person I know. She makes everyone around her smile, feel loved, and is always willing to step in and help whoever needs her. Katie loves her job at our local bank and takes great pride in her work. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her cousins, watching movies, hosting game nights, and loves to read books- mystery and romance novels are some of her all-time favorites! Katie is nurturing, caring, patient, and enjoys spending time with kids- especially our nephews. She likes to take them to water parks, the zoo, and out for ice cream- all things she looks forward to doing with our own child. Katie will be an amazing mother and I know she is excited to share her love of reading with our child and looks forward to snuggling with them at bedtime.
Our Family
We are blessed to have our immediate family all within a ten-minute drive, which means lots of family time! Both sets of our parents have been married for over 30 years, and they all are going to be sensational Grandparents. We have dinner every Sunday with Katie’s family so we can all take a step back and just enjoy each other’s company. With both families being so close we get the chance to spend holidays with everyone and make many great memories. We are very fortunate to have an amazing support system of family and friends who are all excited to welcome and love our child.
Our Home in Iowa
We live in a three-bedroom ranch-style home with plenty of room for fort building and family movie nights. The house sits on four acres of land, on a quiet country road. We are in the process of getting a nursery all set up, the first thing we bought was a bookshelf so we could start collecting bedtime stories! We are five miles from the small town where we both grew up and it is not far away are two larger cities that provide a variety of fun family activities.
We are so fortunate to live in a state that has four beautiful seasons. Spring has puddle jumping, summer comes with campfires, autumn always includes pumpkin picking and winter is full of snowball fights. Our home also includes two dogs, Penny and Riggs, who love to play!
Our Promise
We promise to love your child unconditionally. We will give them a safe, secure, happy, and loving home where they can grow to be their best self. They will be given the best education and will always encourage them to follow their dreams. We will share with them our loves of the outdoors, reading, and most importantly the meaning of family. We promise to tell them how much you love them and how you chose us to love them. We look forward to getting to know you and sharing with you letters, pictures, and visits at your comfort level.

| Our Special Interests | We love spending time outdoors with our dogs! Fetch is a nightly routine at our house and always great fun. We love spending time with our extended family and friends. One of our favorite things to do is taking our three-year-old nephew out for ice cream every Friday. | |
| Our Faith | Our families have belonged to the same Christian church for over fifty years. Katie is currently a member of our church council. We plan to baptize and raise our child in the very same church. | |
| Family Traditions | We love spending time with our families! Some of our family traditions include a themed cook off every year with hayrack rides and smores, homemade spaghetti made by Katie's Grandma every Christmas, annual Black Friday shopping spree, movie/game nights and weekly Sunday dinners with Katie's parents and sister's family. We spend every holiday with both of our families so your child will constantly be surrounded by extended family's love. | |
| Our Extended Families | Our child will be so lucky to have five great-grandparents! We are from very large extended families including lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Most of our extended family lives close so we get together all of the time. Holidays are the best amongst the fun and chaos. | |
