A Letter from Jamal & Niambi
We are a family of three from Georgia. We are so excited to adopt once more and share our family and love with your child. We look forward to spending time with your child, playing indoors in our playroom and outside at our local parks and playgrounds. We love making pancakes on the weekend and taking small adventures to local sites. We value education, our community, and our culture. We would love to learn more about you and share our love for travel, the outdoors, and family with your child.
We love spending time together riding bikes, flying kites, visiting parks, museums, art centers, and relaxing on the couch to watch a movie together. We love to travel and spend time outside. We love to explore other countries as well as new neighborhoods in our community. We also enjoy learning about new cultures, cuisines, and customs. We believe that the world is a place to be explored and that traveling with family makes for lifetime memories. For us, spending time together as a family is always important. We always enjoy playing with our son and playing make-believe with him.
We are also really big on education and building up self-worth. We want to raise our children to be their best selves and to be defined by their abilities, talents, and interests.
Jamal is an amazing husband and father. He is patient and kind, warm, and funny. He is often quiet but has a huge heart and a great laugh. (Avery does a perfect impression!) He works hard as a special education teacher and, watching him teach, reminds me of all the things I fell in love with 7 years ago.
Jamal is also a die-hard football fan, who spends his Sunday’s coaching the Falcon’s from our living room. He also loves to read, travel, and is interested in history and politics. He also loves playing sports with Avery, and Saturday’s swim lessons have become their special bonding time. Creating special moments is what makes Jamal most excited about adopting again.
Niambi is truly an amazing woman. She is hard-working, smart, thrifty, and extremely strong-willed. She strives to be the best in everything she does and has a heart that makes everyone she meets feel special. She has a true passion for children and education which is why she makes such a great senior executive at a local educational nonprofit. Niambi is funny, light-hearted, and has been known to make up silly songs and dances. She an amazing cook with a GREAT smile and has made our home warm, comfortable, and stylish. She has so much love to offer to your child.
Our son, Avery, is such an active and vibrant little boy. When he turned 3, he became more curious about everything around him. He’s smart, loves to read, listen to music, watch Paw Patrol, and enjoys running. He is going to be a great big brother and already likes to share things with his little cousin.
Both of our families are thrilled about our adoption and are praying for your child already. We live near Jamal’s family and we spend many weekends with them- swimming, barbecuing, and playing board games. He also has 2 brothers who live in North Carolina and Washington, DC. Niambi’s family all live in Florida. We spend many vacations – and most summers – hanging out with them at the beach!
Our 3-bedroom house sits on a little more than two acres, in a small community right outside of a large metropolitan area. It is filled with laughter, music, prayer, home-cooked meals, and Pine-Sol. We love a clean house and enjoy making it feel warm and inviting!
We are about a 5-minute walk from the quaint downtown square with coffee shops, parks, local business, and we are about a 20-minute ride from the bustling city life with art galleries, the city zoo, and other cultural attractions. It really is the best of both worlds!
We promise to love your child unconditionally. We will teach them about God, as a Savior, Comforter, Healer, and Friend. We will create safe, healthy, happy environments for them to grow up in, and we will provide them with structure, adventure, and fun. We promise to laugh with them and support them no matter what. We will make sure they have the best education possible and will introduce them to different cultures and communities so they learn about the world and others. W e will develop their sense of self, as an African-American child, and teach them about strength, resiliency, confidence, and pride. We promise to tell them their adoption story and look forward to keeping in touch with you however you are comfortable.

More About Our Family
Our Special Interests
We love to travel and spend time outside. We love to explore other countries as well as new neighborhoods in our community. We enjoy learning about new cultures, cuisines and customs. We believe that the world is a place to be explored and that traveling with family makes for lifetime memories.
We love God and are grateful to Him for all that He has blessed us with. We actually met on a Christian website because for both of us, faith in God is the most important thing. And when we say faith, we also believe in the works of God. We think that you say thank you to God by giving to His children and spreading love with every person you encounter.
Our Extended Family
We are surrounded by a community of people who we have known for over two decades. They are here for us to celebrate the joys in life and to pray with us through the challenges. Several of them live in Georgia, D.C and Florida, and when you get us in the room together it is always like a family reunion with food, fun and music.
We both work in education. Jamal is a special education teacher who works with autistic students in a self-contained classroom. He has always had a heart for the work and feels like often students with learning difference are overlooked and forgotten. So, he has taken that purpose and is dedicated to becoming a leader in the teaching field.
Niambi has worked at an educational nonprofit that connects students with career and life experiences to deepen their high school learning. She grew up in a small, rural community with very few resources, but her family instilled in her a great love for learning and its value to a happy life. Now she is committed to making sure that every child- regardless of where the come from- have the same access to a quality high school education.
Our Musical Interests
We love music of all types. Of course we grew up listening to old-school Hip-Hop, and we have to stop and dance every time we hear Mary J., Biggie or TuPac. Still, we also love the Beetles, Beyoncé, Jill Scott, old-school R&B and rock. Did we mention, Neo-soul and jazz? We love a variety of music. Jamal has also been known to fill the house with Spanish music; and Niambi grew up in the south, so she can sing classic country music with the best of them. And then there is gospel; the trusted music to help us sort through tough times.
We live in the state of
Georgia, but we spend a lot of time in Florida.
Our Hidden Talents
Jamal understand Spanish perfectly. His parents are Panamanian, and he grew up traveling to Panama in the summer. So, where he is not quite fluent in speaking the language, he has no problem understanding it.
Niambi is a very handy. She grew up in the country, and out of necessity knows a little about a lot of things. If given time, she can pretty much learn how to make- or fix- just about anything.
Avery has a great memory. You can read a book to him once and by the end, he can almost retail you what happened on each page. We can't wait until he actually learns to read for himself!
