A Letter from Orlando & Lauren
Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves and tell you about our family.
We are a fun, active family of three that enjoys exploring new places together. We look forward to sharing our home of love and laughter with your child. We are honored that you would consider us as adoptive parents.
We met 10 years ago in Philadelphia while Lauren was finishing up medical school and Orlando was working full time in sales. We got married 3 years later in the spring of 2013 and have fallen deeper in love every day since. Along the way we have had many adventures, some of our favorite things to do are visiting zoos, going on hikes, playing board games, and attending sporting events. Go Eagles!
After years of trying to get pregnant and struggling through infertility treatments, we were blessed with our daughter, Madison. She has absolutely been the joy of our life. We love to take her on short hikes, to petting zoos, and on plenty of family fun adventures! We look forward to including your baby in our family, sharing with them our passion for the great outdoors, and having them help us cheer for our favorite teams!
Orlando is a kind and loyal man who puts his family first and is incredibly supportive of all of us. His work includes shopping for and delivering groceries for those who can’t get out of their house. He currently works part-time so he can devote more time to our family. He enjoyed spending time each year as a soccer coach teaching at a soccer camp for young kids. Orlando is resourceful, diligent, and loves to learn new things from photography to DIY projects. (He even built an enclosed porch on our house.)
When not practicing his photography skills, he also enjoys exploring nature, going for hikes, and playing in a soccer league in town. He is a great head of our family and such a loving father to our daughter. He will never miss an opportunity to take her to the park and she adores her dad. I am so looking forward to watching him share his adventurous spirit with our next child.
Lauren is a dynamic woman, a wonderful wife, and an amazing mother. She is fun, energetic, loving, adventurous, and compassionate just to make a few things. Lauren is a big sports fan, is always patient when speaking with others, and an enthusiastic traveler. As a doctor, Lauren works extremely hard helping her colleagues and those whom she supervises. As a mother, Lauren is the most nurturing person I have ever met.
She enjoys reading books and singing songs with our daughter, Madison. They also go on walks together and kick a ball around in the yard. She is very excited to welcome your baby to the family and looks forward to reading to them their favorite books and singing with them their favorite songs.
Madison is our playful and very affectionate daughter. Often we will find her running around carrying one of her stuffed friends, a ball, or a handful of books (or all of the above at the same time.) She is playful, affectionate, and is developmentally on pace or ahead in her milestones and we are especially proud of her communication. We started teaching her American Sign Language around 10 months old and she picked it up very well. She has almost as many ASL words as she does verbal words.
One of the things that drew us together is our love for family. We are lucky to have tremendous support throughout life and specifically in this adoption process from our extended family. When we moved back to Pennsylvania 5 years ago, a big part of the reason was to be closer to all of them. We enjoy making regular visits, spending quality time with them, and watching the cousins play together.
We live in a lovely two-story 5 bed / 4 bath single-family home on 1.5 acres of land. We have a dedicated room for the nursery already and another room set up to be the playroom! Our street is fairly quiet with friendly neighbors whom we enjoy visiting with. We live in a larger rural town and love the area because it gives us a nice balance of space to spread out while still being close to town. Our town is also home to a state university!
We promise to love your child unconditionally. We will help them to grow a spirit of curiosity and wonder. We will introduce them to a wide variety of different experiences, give them a supportive and safe environment to learn on their own, and ultimately help them discover their own path in life. We will encourage hard work and dedication in pursuit of their dreams as well as kindness and caring toward everyone they meet. We look forward to shared laughter and making memories together as a family with your child. We are open to keeping in touch with you through letters and pictures and, if you are interested, visits.

More About Our Family
Our Special Interests
One of the most enjoyable things we like to do as a family is visiting new places and exploring nature. Our daughter particularly enjoys splashing around in creeks and pointing out the animals she sees on our walks. We feel very fortunate to have so many close by places to explore like mountains, waterfalls, trails, caves, beaches, and state parks. Our hiking shoes have gotten their fair share of use and we look forward to putting on your child’s first pair as they go on their first adventure with us, though some of our best adventures have been right in our backyard.
One of the things that first drew us to each other was our shared faith. We both grew up in the Church and credit both our parents and mentors within our church growing up as being very formative in our faith journeys. Our family values are founded in God’s love and grace and we look forward to teaching our children about our faith. We attend a wonderful local church a few miles from our house.
About Our Home
We live in a beautiful two-story 5 bed/ 4 bath single-family home on 1.5 acres of land. We have a room already picked out for the nursery and another picked to be a playroom. We have a large backyard with a swing set and a fun hill that we enjoy playing on. We also have an area off to the side for making campfires and roasting marshmallows. S’mores Yum!
Family is very important to both of us. Every year we get together with either or both sides of the family for Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Easter to share in some extra special family time. On Lauren’s side, the family gets together every other year for a vacation often centered around outdoor activities or for a long weekend trip on the other years. On Orlando’s side, the family gets together for a vacation somewhere active like an amusement park, a beach, or a cruise.
