A Letter from Ryan & Virginia
Hello from our sweet home in Alabama! We feel strongly that we are called to adopt, and after years of infertility, we are excited to welcome a child into our family through adoption. Ryan is an engineer and Virginia is a full-time homemaker. We would be honored to welcome your child into our lives, and hope to get to know you along the way. We believe open adoption can be good for all involved, and if you’re comfortable, we’d love to stay in touch with you!
Our Story
We met through our church, which was a great start to our relationship because we both agree our faith in God is the key to our happy marriage. We just celebrated our 5th anniversary! Adoption was on our hearts from the start and we would love to share our love with a child.
Together we enjoy:
• Going to the beach to unwind and relax
• Browsing antique stores
• Cooking and baking
• Hiking mountain trails
• Reading (we love books!)
Meet Virginia
I love being a homemaker and look forward to becoming a stay-at-home mom. Keeping a nice home and caring for my family brings me joy and fulfillment. In my spare time, I volunteer at our church.
According to Ryan: To me, Virginia is the most kind, thoughtful, caring, and beautiful person. She always finds ways to brighten my day or make me feel loved. Virginia is generous and helpful, and has an understanding heart for how children think. Children love to be around Virginia, and I know she will be a selfless, nurturing, terrific mother.
Virginia enjoys:
• Cooking and baking (and trying new recipes!)
• Designing jewelry and beaded craft work
• Organizing and planning
• Writing or journaling
• Landscaping and yard work
• Coffee and Mexican food (as often as possible!)
Meet Ryan
I work in engineering as a missile test analyst. My favorite parts of my job are devising ways to go over data and discovering issues so we can fix or make them better.
According to Virginia: Ryan is focused, thoughtful, and always puts the good of others first. He’s caring, hardworking, and so smart! Ryan is musically talented; he can play almost any instrument. He loves to learn and teach others. I know Ryan will be an incredible father because he is prayerful, strong, and compassionate.
Ryan enjoys:
• Reading about history and religion
• Projects around the house
• Playing with local music groups
• Singing in the church choir
Our Home in Alabama
We live in a quiet neighborhood, about 15 minutes from downtown. We like evening walks and seeing our neighbors. Our home has four bedrooms and a large backyard with room for a garden and a play set. We’ve already started getting a nursery ready for our future baby. From our yard, we can see the mountains in the distance; on weekends we grill out on our patio and watch the sun set. We love our big kitchen where we enjoy spending much of our time cooking together.
We love the small town feel of our city and enjoy boating on the lake and river, going to the parks, and hiking the mountain trails nearby. Our community is family-focused, has many outdoor shopping and dining venues, museums, a baseball stadium, and historical landmarks.
Our Pets: We have two sweet and gentle cats; a Russian Blue, named Joanna Gaines (JoJo) and a tabby cat, named Kit Cat. JoJo is very cuddly and loves snuggling any chance she gets. Kit Cat is very sweet and playful.
Our Family
We both come from large, close-knit Catholic families; Ryan is one of five children, and Virginia is one of nine! Our immediate families all live locally (31 of us!), including our six nieces and nephews, ranging in age from 11 to 3. We have 3 grandparents who we see often, even though they live out of town.
Adoption is already a part of our extended family! Ryan’s brother was adopted as a baby and we’ve seen first-hand the blessing of adoption in his family. Everyone is supportive of and excited about our plans to adopt!
Our Promise
We promise to raise your child in a Godly home, with love and dignity. We will provide for and protect him or her, and nurture your child to reach their potential. We promise to encourage him or her to develop his or her strengths and talents, and make the most of their education. Our home will be a stable, peaceful place where your child can grow. We will pass down our love for God and others around us.
It’s important to us that our child know his or her story, and we will always speak of you with love. If you’d like, we totally welcome the chance to keep in touch with you throughout your child’s life! We will be happy to share visits, phone calls, and letters, so you can have a continued connection with your child, if you want. We will honor what you are comfortable with in our relationship.
If you have questions or want to talk with us, please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.
With love, Ryan & Virginia

Fun Facts About Us | Virginia is passionate about animal rescue and will go out of her way to cuddle a pet or help a hurt wild animal. She loves squirrels and once cared for a baby squirrel who had fallen from its nest during a storm. She fed it for weeks until it could eat on its own, and they had a sweet little bond until it was time to return to the wild. Ryan likes to listen to French and German pop music, and his friends would say he’s known for his silly puns and corny jokes. | |
